Why so Sluggish?

In case you are wondering why GeekRoar.com feels a bit sluggish right now, it is because the site is getting pretty heavy traffic after the weekend release of Film Roar: Van Helsing (2004). As of today GeekRoar ranks:
#1 for AOL Web Search: Results for "van helsing pictures"
#1 for Google Search: van helsing pictures
and
#2 for Yahoo! Search Results for van helsing pictures

GeekRoar is also on the first page of results for: AOL Web Search: Results for "van helsing gallery", Google Search: van helsing gallery and Yahoo! Search Results for van helsing gallery and still shows high for "Underworld pictures" and "league of extraordinary gentlemen" searches. PWASOH.com does not get a lot of visits but does push out the rather large (for a limited bandwith site) movies at PWASOH Phunies :: Cat Attack! and the PETA bad cat ad at PWASOH Phunies :: Phuny TV Ads with some regularity (people have linked to the bad cat movie so the counter is not augmenting).

All of this is coming from a home-assembled PC sitting behind a 640K DSL line (that tests around 200K). I have had people ask me why I don't move GeekRoar.com and PWASOH.com to a hosted site. The answer is that I will be glad to do so if someone is willing to offer hosting with the server side applications I use (MT, PHP, MySQL, SSH, PERL, Webalizer, Gallery) and no bandwidth restrictions for little or no cost. I have found some enticing offers but am not willing to sign up for a site that will send me some huge bill if a page becomes popular enough to exceed a monthly bandwidth cap. I still have a third domain I want to launch but am afraid to even suggest on the limited bandwidth I have. Anyone have a server they are willing to donate?
