I worked at a gift shop that sold ARIA and ARIA2, my copies were lost and I can’t seem to find a place to order them on line and the gift shop is now closed. I found the music very soothing and quite therapeutic…can you give me some info. (producer, etc.) that may help me find it. Hope this isn’t too much of a bother, but I would greatly appreciate it. Teri

While Aria ist out of print, you can find individual resellers who are selling copies. Take a look at Amazon

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/offering/list/-/B00001IV9T/all/ref=dp_bb_a/104-4981002-5530324

The Amazon New And Used section showed a number of copies, most new available.

    Do you not like Rutter?
Or, Mendelssohn, Haydn, Handel, Dvorak, or Grieg?
What about Chanticleer (acappella chorus)? Robert McDuffie (violinist)? Josh Groban? Charlotte Church? Sting? John Williams?

I keep a database of CD’s, tapes, vinyl and pre-vinyl recordings, recorded movies, and books (owned and read).

Rutter I do not know. Mendelssohn and Handel I think both have made some impressive pieces but I find them a bit boring. It may be due to the selection I have heard but I feel like they did not vary much. Dvorak I quite like and Haydn I quite adore. It is not on the list but I have a CD of Haydn operatic arias that is quite impressive. Chanticleer, McDuffie and Groban I do not know. Charlotte Church I have not heard enough of to form an opinion. Sting I think is an incredible musician but his music honesly wears thin on me after a short while. John Williams rocks! I know his music is formulaic as all hell but I still enjoy listening to his work.

Hi. Love your music selection (Deep Forest, Dead Can Dance, Putmayo collections…) You posted on another page (which came up on a google search - how I came to be here) that you had found several techno/ remix versions of “oh fortuna” I have the Orff version on tape but have been searching to no avail for the dance version I heard in clubs over 6 years ago.

Can you tell me how you found yours? (I live in the Kansas City area - so music selection is limited here) THank you in advance for any tips.

The Techno version of Oh Fortuna is by Apotheosis. How I found it is actually a very long and complicated story that involves searching record filled basements in five cities and talking with a number of DJs. This was back before the days of the internet (when I would take on a quest at the request of My Lady) and when the track had been pulled from the only official record on which it had been published. Today you can order a CD single with all the versions (except the original version which broke copyright) from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00000E65T/qid=1080092545/sr=1-7/ref=sr_1_7/102-5282143-0909736?v=glance&s=music

Wonderful collecion. A assortment both wide spread and sometimes quite narrowed. Cirque Du Soleil? I always mocked by my friends for listening to that, but damn it I liked it. ::nod::
Anyway, you mentioned on one of your replies about quests for music. I have actually been on one for over 5 years. For a album by DJ Onionz. I am unsure of the album’s name, or even if it is a album, since my tape was a copy of a copy given to me by my brother. Gave it to my best friend to have it digitalized so it wouldn’t further deteriate, and he lost it. ::Flail:: Any ideas where I can continue my search? It Jungle set by DJ Onionz, made around ‘91-93. Has remixes of the Disco hit “Freak out” and “I need your lovin’” Also some odd samples fro the movie “Total Recall” and such. Do you know of any good sites that specailize in finding rare Electronica or Jungle tracks? All the ones I have found just do records, or CDs. Since this is neither, I am having a rough time. So I bene sending out the SOS to anyone I thought could help. I can be reached at Trik8me@cs.com if you have any advice. My brother is a huge Dead Can dance nut, so he probably has some rare tracks of theirs if you can help any. Thanks. :-)
