LOTR Trilogy Tickets going for $300
[Movie News]Anyone wanting to get tickets to the upcoming Lord of the Rings Trilogy marathon showing (Film Roar: Lord of the Rings Marathon) better get to it right away.
Fandango makes it seem like tickets are still available for one of the 3 shows in Portland and it is all sold out for Seattle. And for those of you hoping to buy tickets from someone else, good luck. Tickets for the Cinerama are going for over $300 a pair on Ebay!
Posted by Leopoldo at October 12, 2003 01:29 PM | TrackBackYeah, tickets for the trilogy itself in Portland (the one day event where you see all of them on the same day) was sold out the day of. No luck here, damn it. I haven't seen any tickets for sale in Portland yet. Seattle scalpers must after them like ring wraiths for the one ring.
Posted by: Nick on October 12, 2003 10:12 PMI'd intended to get up at midnight on the 9th to secure mine ... of course I slept in ... around 11 am I had a heart attack when I realized what day it was. Luckily I was still able to get a hold of them for the Richmond screening, happily handing over $185 for five tickets (yeah - I'm going with four other people). Now I feel really dumb for not buying more! (dang!) Ah well, at least I'm sitting pretty as far as the marathon goes...
Posted by: heathcliffe on October 16, 2003 09:26 AMWell, as time goes by and people get more desperate the price seems to be climbing.

Shows two tickets in San Fransisco with bidding up to $455 making them the highest priced ticket set on eBay to have received a bid.
Posted by: Leopoldo on October 16, 2003 04:56 PMSomeone please tell where (other than eBay) I can get at least two tickets. I live in SC, where there are only two theaters doing this whole trilogy thing, and I need someone to sell me tickets!!

I'm a geek, but sometimes I'm not geek enough. I was aware of this super-fantastic trilogy screening, but I didn't realize that tickets had already gone on sale. Damn Fandango, anyhow. What are they good for? Oh well. Now I don't need to take that day off work! :)
