TNG: Ensign Redhead is found!

Back in June I posted some musings on the miniskirt uniforms and Ensign Redhead found in the first few episodes of season 1 of Star Trek The Next Generation:

Now, thanks to the wonders of DVD technology and the watchful eye of my friend David C, we have photographic evidence of both of these phenomena! Ladies and Gentlemen I present the Star Trek TNG Unisex skit uniform:

Well, congratulations, Leopoldo. So this is ensign redhead. Hm.
Fascinating...
I miss those skirt uniforms. However, just because we didn't 'see' them, doesn't mean they(or our Ensign Redhead) wasn't wearing them!

Posted by: Joseph on November 20, 2004 12:16 PMScreen Actors Guild rules dictate actors get paid a lot more money if they speak on screen, that is why on TV shows you often see characters who show up but never say a word. Non-speaking roles are also not traditionally credited so it is very unlikely you will find the actresses' name listed anywhere. I would love to know her name and know what else she may have been in.
Posted by: Leopoldo on November 20, 2004 04:24 PMActually, if there are those of you who have a real fetish for "Ensign Redhead" and would love to see a very complimenting view of her; during the episode "The Naked Now" there are several brief shots of her, including a very appealing one during the scene where Tasha Yar is smooching with a nameless science crewman. Lets just say that some of Ensign Redhead's "assets" are shown, much to the pleasure of Yours Truly. I don't think the sex appeal of the shot was intentional by the camera crew, but they must be thanked nonetheless. Check it out for yourselves, and let me know what you think!
Posted by: Phyfell on March 23, 2005 10:49 PMIf someone's ascertion that Ensign Redhead is the same person/actress as the one found being deflowered by the outrageous Thadiun Okona, then I think I may have found out who she is. The name of the actress that played the object of said Okona's dubious affections is Lorine Mendell, and least I think. There is an uncredited role by the name of Dianna Giddings played by Mendell, which I assume is the redhead found in Okona's quarters. I got this information from Memory Alpha, a Star Trek wiki site. Check it out for yourselves, and investigate!
