Back to the Future Part III (1990)

[3 - Enjoyed it]

As with Back to the Future Part II (1989), Back to the Future Part III (1990) lacks much of the wit and great writing of the original Back to the Future (1985) movie but is still entertaining. This time most of the original cast is gone and they add Mary Steenburgen as the sensual school teacher Clara Clayton.

There is not much to say about the movie, as it is rather flat. As with the first sequel there is some fun to be fun with references to the first two and other movies:

* A horse dealership in 1885 is own by the Statlers. In Back to the Future (1985) there is an ad on the radio for "Statler Toyota".

* Clayton ravine was initially named after the teacher, Clara Clayton, who died in it. With Clara saved but the Doc and Marty (under the alias of Clint Eastwood) gone presumed dead in the train accident the raven is now named 'Eastwood' raven in the future timeline.

* In Part II biff watches A Fistful of Dollars (1964) where Clint Eastwood uses the bulletproof trick that Marty uses in this movie.

* "Mad Dog" is the name of the chief villain of "Wild Gunman", the western arcade game Marty plays in Part II.

* ZZ Top do their signature guitar flip during their cameo as the festival band.

The song that ZZ Top is playing at the festival in 1885 is an old-time western version of 'Doubleback', which is played by them (in its modern rock form) during the closing credits.

I just through I'd throw that in.

I own all 3 DVDs and I would like to say
