No More Star Trek For Stewart and Bambi II

[Movie News]

I learned two odd things today while reading a short article on SyFy Portal based on an interview with Patrick Stewart. The first bit should really not be much of a surprise is that after the box office failure of Film Roar: Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) Stewart states he is not interested in reprising his role as Captain Picard should another Star Trek movie be made. The second bit tossed in at the end of the article made me do a double take as I read that Stewart will be doing voice work on a sequel to the Disney movie Bambi (1942). Bambi II coming to a theater near you? I mean really, wasn't Bambi Meets Godzilla (1969) the definitive reprise of the doe-faced hero?

Good question. I kept meaning to keep going on the TNG but never got around to it. Now that I know it has an audience this is good incentive to go back and do more TNG reviews :-)

Is the TNG-review facet of Trek Talk officially dead? We haven't had a new one since November 3rd, and I miss them.

I remember being surprised at finding Stewart more compelling in the X-Men movies as Professor Xavier than as Captain Picard in the Star Trek...cinematic efforts. That was when I realized that Star Trek *really* needs to move out from Hollywood.

Yeah, we'll see if Stewart's tune stays the same when offered a nice check. Though I wouldn't be sad if there were no more TNG movies. They've been really inconsistent and none have approached the better three original movies, imo (2, 3, and 4).
