LOTR The Two Towers DVD Release Dates
[DVD News]A friend recently asked me what I knew about the upcoming Lord of the Rings The Two Towers DVD release. Here is the info I have:
As with the last movie there will be a two-disc set with the theatrical release and 8 featurettes plus two documentaries released in August (unconfirmed date is August 26th). An Extended Edition 4 DVD set will be released in November (unconfirmed date is November 18th) with a lot of added footage. The extra footage is reported to be a full 43 extra minutes and according to darkhorizons.com includes
Amongst the scenes there are Faramir (David Wenham) finding a boat bearing his brother Boromir's body, and details of the twisted emotional ties that ensnare the two to their father Denethor are exposed. In another scene, Eomer (Karl Urban) finds his mortally wounded cousin Theodred and brings him home. Eowyn has more scenes including one where Aragorn tames an unruly horse for her, and her cooking a special stew for Aragorn who eats it despite an obvious disgust. Merry & Pippin have more scenes with Treebeard including the famous Ent-draught sequence where the two drink brew which adds height to their stature.Posted by Leopoldo at June 19, 2003 09:35 AM | TrackBack

The release dates for LOTR on DVD have not been announced yet. There are a lot of rumored dates out on the internet claiming a March or a May date but nothing official yet.
