Alien Vs. Predator in Pre-Production

[Movie News]

alienvspredator.jpg

There was a lot of internet hype last year around this time when 20th Century Fox announced Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil (2002), Event Horizon (1997), Mortal Kombat (1995)) would direct a new Alien Vs. Predator movie. The hype died down until this week when an article on filmjerk.com announced that the movie has entered pre-production and is due to start filming in Prague October.

Amazing! I was just talking about the idea of this movie with my friend the other day and how I thought it would never happen because of stupid liscence and copyright bullshits. Man, the people in the comic rumor mills talked about the making of this movie for about a decade with no results. I wonder what has changed to allow this awesome idea to take form. Weird that's it's being filmed in Prague though...I like the futuristic settings better than historic, but maybe the set designs will prove me wrong. The only hope I will have about this movie is that they keep the suspense level UNBEARABLY high in this movie, because we all know that the 5-10 min suspense scenes in both originals are what made them so successful and entertaining in the first place! And I swear to god if there's a kung-fu fighting scene between a Predator and an Alien in this movie I will personally announce the official bastardization of all imagination that ever was.

shyea!

there are several comics from Dark Horse that would provide kick ass storylines, but if the studios had a clue they would get Frank Miller to write a script to give him a chance to redeam himself from those awful Robocop movies and Dark Knight Strikes Again.

You know what beloved comic buying and movie going geeky freaks like myself, I would personally like for the movie industy to remember; that if your going to do a transfrom a comic into a movie you must:

A) stay with the original story line of the man hero and charactors associated with the comic, deviations just cause confussion and unnecessary arguing amongst us that have knowledge of comic book history and these young dumb heads tht don't know squat...

B) you need to make the folloing films and please do them right:

1) Batman v/s Predator- Dark Horse
2) The Infinity Gauntlet crossover -Marvel
3) The Dark Phenoix Saga (X-men) - Marvel
4) The Xtection Agenda (X-men crossover) Marvel
5) The beyonder Crossover series - Marvel
6) Spiderman v/s Venom
7) Wet Works - Image Comics
8) Young Bloods - Image comics
9) Wildcats- Image
10) and forget superman do the bestest most arrogant SURPREAM- Image

I know that my request is a bit long and some may not agree but hopefully some one in hollywood is reading this and saying hummmm this guy has a may be onto something here. I promi9se you hollywood just can't go wrong with any of these and will make mucho dinero and please movie go'ers

From an article on Dark Horizons we get this quote from Sigourney Weaver regarding Alien 5:

Weaver also talked about further Ripley adventures - "Ridley Scott and I have talked a bit about doing one where we go back to the original planet but I don't think any of us are really thinking about it. We're all too busy". She doesn't know much about the upcoming "Alien vs. Predator" but said the spin-off was "one of the reasons [she] wanted to die in Alien 3".

A trailer for Alien Vs. Predator is available at Apple.com

This will be a good movie if it's done right. Though there are some things that I believe must be in the movie to make it as good as its "grandparents".

1) At least at one point in the movie when some poor man is about to be slaughtered by an Alien the heartbeat sound effect must be in use.

2) Sticky Alien slime on the floor when some poor man is about to be slaughtered by an Alien.

3) Predator vision.

4) The line "One ugly mother f**ker" when the Predators face is seen.

i wonder if the movie will be more a sequel to alien 4 or preadator 2?
Or maybe something all on its own.
either way i cant wait.

it's quite good that they mixed humans in the middle of avp fight, so there are like 3 sides fighting, instead of traditional 2...and this mayb helps creating somekind of plot twist or something ...anyways i'm keepin my fingers crossed to aliens :) And when it comes to humans, then there should be some scene with this "motion detector" thingy, u know..the one that was in alien2

Does any one else agree that giving predator dreds was the best idea anyone ever had for an alien...??? so why did they give them luminous green blood :-S ???

This i s a totaly cool site but you really have to sort out the picture problem. yes, stealing bandwidth is wrong but could you at least do sometihng so we can see the fullsize of a thumbnail.
The AvP pic you have up (http://www.geekroar.com/film/archives/alienvspredator-thumb.jpg) can't be seen prpperly becasue your anti bandwidth thing blocks it....

Hmm.. It opens right for me in the web page and independently. Wonder if the rule is mis-firing for some reason.
