Ben Affleck as Daredevil

I have not yet seen the new movie, but I do have to wonder: Ben Affleck as Daredevil,? That seems like such counterintuitive casting, and yet when you stop and think back we accepted Michael Keaton as Batman and Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man. Both Keaton and Maguire performed beautifully in their respective roles, yet I rejected both of them when they were announced for their roles. Now, Affleck has done great in his previous jobs. He showed skill in Shakespeare in Love (1998), Good Will Hunting (1997) and Chasing Amy (1997). but Daredevil? I guess I will have to go see for myself.

Personally, I didn't think Keaton was the best pick and still think someone would have been better. McGuire is a different matter. The Spiderman character should be a little geeky, I think, and since they show the muscle transformation, it worked.

As conflicted and morose Daredevil, though, something just wasn't right... and in my opinion it wasn't entirely his fault - poor writing had more to do with it than anything Ben Affleck did or didn't do...
Strangely enough, I also saw Chasing Amy for the first time this weekend... Good movie, but DAMN it ticked me off...
