Gollum's Song
[Film Discussion]For any of you who went to see LOTR, The Two Towers on Wednesday and stayed through the credits, you heard the very beautiful and haunting "Gollum's Song". I found this song to be beautiful and enchanting. It alone was good motivation to go buy the sound track to the second movie. If you don't want to wait, or simply want to enjoy the song right away, visit the
WINAMP.COM | Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers site to download a copy of the song that will play for up to 70 days.
If you want the song, email me and i will send it o you ;)

There are so many requests for music downloads on my web site that it has become a bit of a pet peeve for me. To any and all who want a piece of music and ask where to download it I offer this suggestion: Buy the CD (or the track from iTunes music store). It is not that expensive and you will be happy to own it.
Posted by: Leopoldo on June 9, 2005 12:45 PMPleeeze people, where can i download this song? I really and utterly need it!!!
Help!
Gollum rules.
He may be ugly, but it's not 'is fault.
I hate that ring.
Peace!
So manny people said they cried during the song and i also cried. i did'nt even knoww why the words were so sad and they spoke to me in a way nothing else could i try not to listen to it because it gets me feeling depressed and i never knew a song could have such power over one person.
Posted by: depressed on May 14, 2005 06:32 PMMany people seem to believe that Gollum changed his mind about helping Frodo and Sam after he was "betrayed", but I don't agree.
In both the film and the novel, I think it's quite clear that Gollum intended to betray the two Hobbits all along, or at least after "The Black Gate is Closed".
From the moment he tells them that there is another, more secret way into Mordor, it is clear that he is leading them into a trap. From the way Faramir and Gandalf react when they hear that Gollum is taking them through Cirith Ungol (at least in the movies -- I can't remember if there was any such reaction in the novel but there probably was), I think there can be no doubt that the pass of Cirith Ungol is a deadly place.
At the very least, even if one chooses to believe in Smeagol's innocence, one cannot deny Gollum's guilt. Perhaps even Smeagol was deceived by Gollum? Who knows...
Posted by: wmgan on March 14, 2005 11:40 PMso is there anybody out there who can remember whether GOllum's SOng was first heard on Farscape (Talon & Kraitz or however you spell it in reference to Aeryn et al), or whether a sci-finatic saw the applicability and came up with a webvideo in retrospect?
Posted by: Elephunk on January 29, 2005 07:31 AMUgh, is there any place you can have a conversation without having some retarted perv flooding their crap all over the page??
Anyways I first didn't like the song, mostly because I never bothered listening to the words... but when I did, I all of a sudden couldn't stop listening to it. The words resonated in my mind and even when I'm not listening to the song, I can still hear it in my head... to me at least, that's how powerful that song is if you let it be. It strikes a chord with so many aspects of life, you can't help but be taken by it.
Posted by: SolidSnake on December 4, 2004 02:23 AMI don't know if any of you noticed, but I believe gollum is in truth the most important character in LOR. Without him sam and Frodo wouldn't have a chance, and in the end he's the one who sacrifices himself to destroy the ring (reading, you can't be 100% sure part of him didn't do it on purpose). And he represents the vast majority of humanity (in pessimistic standards)
Posted by: Polo on October 6, 2004 11:37 AMGollums Lyrics like you asked for Where once was light
Now darkness falls
Where once was love
Love is no more
Don't say goodbye
Don't say I didn't try
These tears we cry
Are falling rain
For all the lies you told us
The hurt, the blame!
And we will weep to be so alone
We are lost
We can never go home
So in the end
I'll be what I will be
No loyal friend
Was ever there for me
Now we say goodbye
We say you didn't try
These tears you cry
Have come too late
Take back the lies
The hurt, the blame!
And you will weep
When you face the end alone
You are lost
You can never go home
You are lost
You can never go home
I just did a simple Google Search for "Gollum's Song Lyrics" and got them on the first hit:
Where once was light
Now darkness falls
Where once was love
Love is no more
Don't say goodbye
Don't say I didn't try
These tears we cry
Are falling rain
For all the lies you told us
The hurt, the blame!
And we will weep to be so alone
We are lost
We can never go home
So in the end
I'll be what I will be
No loyal friend
Was ever there for me
Now we say goodbye
We say you didn't try
These tears you cry
Have come too late
Take back the lies
The hurt, the blame!
And you will weep
When you face the end alone
You are lost
You can never go home
You are lost
You can never go home
Does anyone where I can find the lyrics to Gollums song? I have tried or tryed to find the lyrics by searching on Emiliana Torrini but nothing comes up... I would really appriciate it.. please..
Posted by: Emmelie on August 4, 2004 10:31 AMI never knew ppl actually paid attention to that song like i did, lol. I love it too. When i first listened to it and liked it, i didnt even know it was Gollum's song until i looked at the return of the king and he said some of the lines in the movie that was in the song and i was like Oh that song is about Gollum...which made it even more depressing.
Posted by: Michelle on July 13, 2004 01:28 AMIt's actually because of gollum the one ring was destroyed!
Posted by: fyrheafoc on June 27, 2004 04:01 AMI can help with the song, if someone needs it they can contact me. And I love that song too ^_^
Posted by: dark_fire_bunny on May 15, 2004 03:57 PMp.s. Happy Valentines Day!
Posted by: Luna on February 14, 2004 10:04 AMI love that song! It makes me feel so bad for gollum, even though he is evil. I have the Two Towers Dvd, and You can watch the Gollum song Music Video on the special features. I listen to it over and over.

Posted by: Angela jimenez on January 21, 2004 02:38 PMI am so in awe of Gollum's Song. It is eery and beautiful, and it has such deep meaning to it. It really makes me feel compassionate for people that may actually go through similar situations to Gollum. A person struggling between good and evil, if not helped by someone else, will eventually be overcome by that evil. I feel sorry for Gollum. I don't think he deserved his fate. (: Lord of the Rings fan-JO :)
Posted by: Jessica Opal on January 18, 2004 03:29 PMOne of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Depending on what has happened in some peoples lives, it can be hauntingly appropriate...
Posted by: Sigilstun on January 17, 2004 05:47 AMI've recently read over the lyrics of this haunting tune and have come to believe that it is really Gollum speaking to The Ring, and lamenting that the kindness of Frodo has come so late in his progression into darkness. "These tears you cry, have come too late." There is no hope for Gollum, and he knows it. However, the most pressing question at this hour is: Can Frodo be saved?
Posted by: obi-dan_pironi on January 2, 2004 10:48 PMit wasn't gollum's fault, it was entirely the ring.
Posted by: stanislav on December 22, 2003 04:20 PMIf the song is about friends deserting Gollum then I can't feel sorry for him since he strangled his friend to death.
Posted by: Zach on December 20, 2003 09:48 AMOh god no, please don't put any background music on your site; it sucks big time. Not this particular song, oh no (it's beautiful indeed, and very touching to say the least), but background music in general sucks. Please stay as far away from it as you can.
Posted by: Bengt Lundvik on December 15, 2003 04:05 AMI think "Gollum's Song" is very beautiful and touching. It didn't make me cry (not at least yet!) but it did make me think about a lot of things. Before I read all your comments, I never really paid any attention to Gollum at all. Yes, it's true that he plays a big part in the book and in the movie, but still... Now I feel sorry for him and thinking of his life (even though it just happened in a book) makes me really sad.
Think about this: If Frodo wouldn't have tricked Gollum to a trap in the Two Towers-book, then maybe Gollum could've changed and healed in time...
Although it's just a book and nothing in it is real, it still gives you a lot to think about, don't you think? A great trilogy, by the way. I advice everyone to read it, 'cause it's a great experience!
gollum's song is the most depressing piece i have ever heard. it really pulls all the strings of depressions in me, and makes me think about such big and enormous issues of life, that i get scared.
but the tragedy of poor gollum is also one of the most tragic stories in literature... so the song fits it great...
ppppllllleeeeeeaaaaasssseeeeeee i want to use it on my site as background music :(
Posted by: Nefyaviewen on November 22, 2003 08:11 PMhas anyone found the midi for the song yet?
email it ot me if yo u have please.
I also liked Gollum's Song, but I couldn't help noticing that it sounds very much like a Victoria Willims son, "Nature Boy" on her Musings of a Creek Dipper album. Did anyone else notice this?
Posted by: Chris on November 19, 2003 05:45 PMdoes anyone really know what gollum's song is about? it's all about death and sadness and what happens when your friends desert you and stuff. yeah, sure, it's a sad song, but it has one of those "life in the real world" themes with an underlying meaning. it makes me cry every time i listen to it, but that's only because gollum is so the poor unfortunate soul (help me, i'm quoting the little mermaid) and feels so betrayed by his "master," frodo (who by the way is still not as hot as orli bloom!), that he decides to have this great big spider kill frodo and sam off. the sad part is, his life is so corrupted by the ring that it eventually (finally!) leads him to his death. so the meaning of this awesome (but tragic) song is that you're gonna pay for what you do to me and i'm gonna be so sad because you did these awful things to me. basically, it's about sweet, sweet revenge. (oh, i DO love revenge...)
the underdog
Hey! I love this song. If anyone has the midi file or the mp3 song i could put onto my site please let me know!!!!! Peace, +Sara+
Posted by: Sara on October 13, 2003 02:08 PMThe two towers is most awsome! I am a Lord Of the Rings fan and after I read all the books, I was astonished how it was like the movie and the movie was like the book! Everyone else watch out for the third,"Return Of the King"!
Posted by: TRL on October 11, 2003 07:14 AMGollum's song is like the best saddest song ever. i really am sorta a deppressed person cuz of reasons you dont need to know. the things that bring joy to my life are music, horses and LOTR. TTT is really good better than the first. Gollums song however is really deep because he wants to be good and have all that he usedc to but he knows he cann't and he is banished to a dark mean world where he knows no love.
Posted by: Rosie on October 9, 2003 07:09 PMListening to gollum's song broke my heart evry time i hear it i cry because it makes me think of an ex boyfriend the song would be perfect for him
Posted by: meghan on September 27, 2003 09:02 PMI am about to read the books. Now I am encouraged here.
The film is good, too. At least, we have the musics.
I thought the film was good but as a huge fan of the books I found that there was alot left out that I would really have liked to see. People that have not read the books say that the movie is great but that annoys me because i know better.
Posted by: TheMurl on February 10, 2003 06:41 PMI posted a first impression of the new CD to my personal blog:
http://www.geekroar.com/leopoldo/archives/000090.php
I thought The Two Towers as a film was incredable i would give it ten out of ten , but from a book to a film i would rate it 7. Due to they cut out the end bits that finish off The Two Towers that will be in the third film The Return of the King.
Posted by: rick on January 11, 2003 11:09 AMAll I can say is...
Two Towers was better than the first film, and I really enjoyed the first film. Kudos to Peter Jackson for keeping me interested in the next film to come. By far, this was not a sequel, but it might have had the feel of one if Peter had not done his job properly. I can only speak from pure film perspective since I never did read the books and have thus failed as a true fantasy nerd.
Oh, yes. Kiss Peter Jackson's shiney heiny, Lucas. It seems you can create a purely computer animated character AND do a great job at the same time.
Posted by: Flava on January 6, 2003 03:33 PMLOTR the two towers is amazing! I loved it more than aany movie ive seen and Gollum's song is very pretty but the words literally make me cry
every time i listen to it i cry lol
