There is reason to be excited. Today at 3:00pm the Apple Trailers posted the much anticipated Serenity Trailer. For any who may have missed it, Serenity (2005) is the movie adaptation of the superb but short lived TV show “Firefly” (2002) created by master writer Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992), Toy Story (1995), “Angel” (1999/I)). Firefly was taken off the air before it completed its first season but the series has an avid fan following and is among my favorite TV shows. If you missed the show I very much recommend picking up the series on DVD or even better: if you live in Portland OR like I do put a hold request for it at the Multnomah County Library.

A full trailer for Robert Rodriguez‘ adaptation of Frank Miller’s awesome comic Sin City is now online. In interviews and articles Rodriguez has been adamant about maintaining the original look of the graphic novel in the movie. The footage in the trailer shows Rordiguez’ fine control over digital filmmaking has proved highly successful in this regard. This is a new release I will be watching closely.

LordOfTheRings.net has posted a new teaser trailer for the Return of the King Extended Edition DVD that includes some interesting samples from the DVDs. The extended edition DVD set will be available starting December 14.

Wow. I knew that the new batman movie was supposed to be darker than the previous movies, but after seeing the first teaser trailer I am starting to believe it. I was expecting darker but… wow, that looks awesome!
P.S. Anyone know if this is based on Frank Miller’s Batman Year One?

A new Trailer for Alien Vs. Predator now online. The editing is too fast to make much of the movie out, but it does show enough to suggest that whether it has a plot or not the movie will be a major fight-fest.

I just found a movie trailer for Innocence: Ghost in the Shell 2 the new sequel to the classic anime Ghost in the Shell (1995). The sequel is slated for a premiere at Cannes this year and has a reported run time of 100 minutes. Guess most of us will have to wait for a DVD release.
