Reviews for Havanna Nights

dirtydancing2_poster.jpg

Bad moves are good for funny reviews. Here are a few lines from the New York Times review of Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (2004):

They like the male lead (”he shouldn’t be too embarassed”) even though he has just learned English (in real life) and had to deliver “lines that sound as if they were spoken by Dirk Diggler in the “porno-movies-within-the-movie in “Boogie Nights.”"

It “seems like an episode of “American Dreams” written by Pepe Le Pew”.

“Its one of those rare films for which a blooper reel would be redundant.

I shudder to think what they must have thought of Romola Garai.

I thought it was an okay movie. It had no real plot and the ending suck but nobody expected it to be ocar worthy or note worthy. It had GREAt dancing and a bumpin soundtrack. It was meant to be fun! Not meant to be good!

If you’re out for a no brainer, then this is it. No plot, don’t really make any sense, and a lot of skin. and OMG Patrick looks old, but well for his age.

I thought it was a good movie.Good meaning it was fun to watch. But it would have been nice if they kept the great dancing, great music, and the actors. But they should have added a plot to the movie and a way better ending. What hapeend to them, did they win?The ending left me with a lot of questions.

First… If you are going to get on this website and trash the movie… learn to write correctly first… half of your comments don’t make sense and are spelled wrong. Next, the movie wasn’t meant to be like the first one… it was a fun movie based on a true story… The music is GREAT and the plot was decent. Overall, I liked it a lot!

I agree with Brandi. I thought the movie was great. I wasnt expecting it to be just like the first one. As soon as you saw the previews you knew it was going to be qiute different. I loved it! It was up beat and had great choreography *(not sure on spelling) As soon as I watched it, I wanted to go buy it…it definitely makes me wanna go to a cuban club and dance with a hottie like Diego Luna.

I really liked the movie but what I want to know is did they see each other again, did she go back to cuba ,or they never got to see each other again?

I really liked the movie. There were a few cheese factors, but I loved it anyway. The dancing was great and wow….. Diego Luna!!! I definitely want to see more of him. Oh, and the soundtrack is great, everything about this movie makes me want to dance (and stalk Diego Luna!)

i agreed with Brandi, on pretty much everything. we all must admit that people’s spelling skills are horrible. i just got finished watching the movie with my sister and mom and i thought it was great. and yes, the first movie was not meant to be like the first one. if it was meant to be like the original dirty dancing, or it would be called dirty dancing 2. Patrick does look pretty dam old. Apparently there had to be some connection between the first dirty dancing and the next. he’s it. but i must say, when he moves, it looks like he’s doing the girls part. For a new actress i thought Ramola did well. She still needs some help with her dialect coach but all in all she did alright. i like her lips. Diego Luna on the other hand needs lips. dont get me wrong, the guy did great. His acting was believable and his dancing does make you wanna hit a Cuban club but it sounds like since he’s Mexican he was trying a little too hard to sound Cuban. The plot could have been thickened but it was decent and the ending pretty much did suck, but it was based on true events and in real life, not all things turn out the way you want them too. but it made a great movie and thats all that matters.

I think that this movie was very creative in its own way. Also, the only way you can really like this movie is if you like dancing and you like foreign places, like Cuba or somewhere like that…Oh yeah, they did tell you at the end or nearing it…that they didn’t win the contest, as a matter of fact, they said it during the love scene, and as a first person point of view, she said it before it was going off, so stop trying to dis the damn movie!!! All-in-All, I give this movie, 3 thumbs up!!!!

I’ll admit when I saw the trailers I was like “Great, a bloody rip off.” But I just very recently saw it, and even though it was a typical teen romance thing, not considering it was based on a true story, it was a pretty good movie. I mean they involved something other than dancing or someone getting surgery. They used school, family, and the whole revolution idea. The way they weaved it into the story was well done. As well as Javier’s family’s involvement with it. Overall, I liked the movie, the music, the dancing, and of course (here I’m gonna sound like a reeeeal pre-teen but don’t judge me!) Deigo Luna REALLY helped the film!

Oh my gosh. I loved this movie. At first I really only wanted to see it because Deigo Luna is really cute, but then after I watched it I loved it. The music makes you want to get up and dance. And feel like that all week. If you haven’t seen it you should!!!
