TNG: Manhunt

I know that Lwaxana Troi was written in TNG to be annoying, but man oh man, did I find her incredibly ANNOYING in TNG: Manhunt. The whole fish-people delegate side plot had little excuse, but it was fun to see Picard become Dixon Hill.

Yeah, the Dixon Hill ones are always cool. I wonder how many episodes there actuallly are that have Dixon Hill in them.

Lwaxana is kind of annying, but I love her. She’s so *funny*!

Did anyone know that that was Mick Fleetwood under one of the fish people costumes?

As annoying as Lwaxana was in ‘Haven,’ she somehow manages to surpass herself in this one … maybe it’s all the lame’ she’s wearing. Certainly her clothing in this one can be characterized as, uh, over-the-top. However, despite her presence, this episode still has its moments - Worf, for example, gazing at the hideous rubber visages of the Antideans, and uttering, “What a handsome race,” without a trace of irony.

On another note, when Lwaxana joyfully announces her ‘enagement’ to Riker, she mentions that there will be a ‘traditional Betazoid ceremony’ on the planet’s surface. As we remember from ‘Haven,’ the traditional Betazoid ceremony entails nudity … though what we don’t find out in the series is that not only are the bride and groom naked, *everyone* is. Makes for an interesting situation, given the crew’s vastly varying ideas of propriety…
