Biker Boyz (2003)

Proving once again that Hollywood studios would rather steal competitor ideas than be original, Biker Boyz (2003) is a straight up rip-off of The Fast and the Furious (2001) with some Boyz N the Hood (1991) style blaxploitation thrown in. Some beautiful hand held camera work as the black motorcycle gangs show off their skill and their machines proved the only redeeming feature of this pointless flick.

And the Fast and the Furious was a lame copy of Point Break with Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves. When I saw F&F, I could picture these people sitting around a conference table saying “Let’s remake Point Break with street racers.” And then them going through Point Break scene by scene translating from the surfer setting to the street racer setting. Point Break was a really good movie except for Keanu’s wooden acting.
