Texas Chainsaw Massacre Trailer
July 18th, 2003 at 2:05 pm (Uncategorized)
Apple has posted a new trailer for the upcoming remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. While I have no interest in the movie itself, I must say i was very impressed with the construction of the trailer, specially the good use of stereophonic sound.

That would be the Cocteau Twins. I think the song is called ’song to the siren’.

I was also looking 2 know the name of the
song, and thank you 4 clearing that out!
I checked who made the original, and
it was Tim Buckley who wrote that song.
But Robert plant and a few others did a cover.
Really liked the Mortal Coil Version.

Actually this version of the song is sung by a Minnesota girl, my friend Renee, who used to be in a band called Moneypenny. her voice is unbelievably beautiful! I agree it sounds very similar!

Hello,
I have already contacted you but without success.
I would like to know the title and interpreter of the music introducing the trailer movie “Texas chainsaw Massacre”, by Marcus Nispel with Jessica Biel, Eric Balfour, Erica Leerhsen, Jonathan Tucker and Mike Vogel.
I am mostly interested by the music which appears at the end of the trailer, straight after the line “inspired by a true story”.
I would be very grateful if you could answer my request.
I look forward to receiving it in the very near future.

To my knowledge this film is not based on any true story (After seeing the original I did quite a bit of research on the film and it’s background).
The concept of the Leatherface character is loosely based on the serial killer Ed Gein who, like Leatherface, both killed and exhumed the bodies of recently deceased women to create domestic oddities (lamps, bowls, tables, chairs, etc.) out of their remains. I’m fairly certain the cannibalistic tendency of the Hewitts is an embellishment not practiced by Gein.
Ed’s bizarre lifestyle was also imitated in such films as “Psycho” (Ed was consumed by his over-bearing mother and the advent of her death initiated his downward spirial- I’m not sure if he preserved her like Norman Bates) and “The Silence of the Lambs” (using human skin to fashion his own distinct clothing line).
To my knowledge none of the events depicted in this film have any relevance to a true crime that occurred in Texas (Gein being from Wisconsin). Nevertheless the original is scary as hell and I highly recommend watching it before seeing the remake, as it already appears from the trailer than many aspects have been changed.
If anyone has any information to support or contradict anything I’ve stated please feel free to contribute. I am no expert on the subject, simply a curious fan. All said and done, whether true or not, this movie is still a fantastic cult classic and easily one of the creepiest films ever made.

My “exact” version I obtained is called =
Meditation - Wiccan - This Mortal Coil - Song To The Siren
It doesn’t help any of us when there are many MANY different versions of it out there. Just keep looking for it and you will come across it.

since there are tons of pages full of ppl looking for the song…
…
i recorded it

also, i downloaded many versions of Song to the Siren, and i got one that sounds exactly the same, same voice, same rythm… just got edited (echo… and other sound effects), the song’s name i have is
“This Mortal Coil - Song To Siren [Noa]”
Just go to the yahoo group, sign in, download both files and hear both… they are the same, just the trailer one’s edited…
i also added the lyrics and a comment from the Cocteau twins about this opening trailer song…
Since ppl say its a version of Moneypenny, the singer is Renee from Minnesota, i gave the file i recorded that info… it may be wrong though

OK, to set the record straight:
1) The version of “Song to the Siren” as featured in the TCM soundtrack IS NOT the version as recorded by This Mortal Coil
2) The TCM soundrack rendtion of this song was recorded SPECIFICALLY for the soundtrack
3) The vocals are done by Renee Firner, singer for the Minneapolis band Moneypenny. (More information on Moneypenny [who are now defunct] can be found at mp3.com under Moneypenny USA [there is an Irish band on mp3.com also called Moneypenny])
4) The instruments and production were done by Ev, multi-instrumentalist for the Minneapolis band 12 Rods. More info about 12 Rods can be found at 12rods.com
5) The recording was done at Twin Cities studio Integral Recordings
6) There is no full version of this song available ANYWHERE. Don’t go looking.
7) Yes, it sounds a lot like This Mortal Coil’s version, or several other versions, but it’s NOT any of them.
8) Renee Firner just performed this song on October 11th at the Bryant Lake Bowl Theatre, with Dave Beckey from The Autumn Leaves accompanying her on guitar.
9) There is no information as to whether this will be on the official TCM soundtrack, but I doubt that it will be.
Are there any further questions?

I had the pleasure of interviewing Liz Frazer of the Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil about ten years ago for PROPAGANDA MAGAZINE. Her voice is angelic. Her version of “Song to the Siren” is so close to the version on the Texas Chainsaw trailer… I suggest that you go to Amazon.com and locate the album, “It’ll End in Tears” by This Mortal Coil. Her voice is so similar to Renee Firner’s, you’ll enjoy this version just as much. I still need proof that it’s NOT Liz Frazer’s voice on this TCM trailer. It’s too close.
Also, the club/trance band Ratty did a great version of this song… which was a HUGE hit about 3 or 4 years ago in the clubs. The song was called “Sunrise (Here I Am)”. You can also buy it on Amazon.
If you want to hear the entire Ratty version… go to this link:
www.flexor.ru/real.php3?id=617
And click on LISTEN. Or you can do free downloads.
The girl’s voice is hauntingly beautiful after the synth-beat intro.
If you buy the CD single on Amazon, they have different mixes. There is an extented club mix that has much more of her haunting vocals. The Ratty version remains my all-time favorite.

It’s not BASED on a true story.. It’s INSPIRED by a true story.. Ed Gein’s Story.. and Ed Gein didn’t do the chasing and the chainsaw and wasn’t an imbred baby stealer… He just used peoples skin for clothing, and furniture..
The chainsaw, and Leatherface, and all the family, and the stolen baby, and the hitchhiker girl in the beginning are all “Movie” things..

OK, here’s the thing about ‘Song To The Siren’; this song practically has it’s own fan club. When Tim Buckley wrote it over 30 years ago he performed it on The Monkees show, no kidding. Then the 4AD record label got a bunch of musicians from several bands together and formed This Mortal Coil. Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance and Elizabeth Fraser from Cocteau Twins were both on TMC’s first release It’ll End In Tears, but it is Elizabeth Fraser doing vocals on TMC’s version. Cocteau Twins never recorded a cover of their own.
Chemical Brothers have a song titled Song To The Siren, don’t bother, it has nothing to do with this song, completely different, nothing to see there, move along. Also, there is no one named Noa Cacherel, rather, Noa is a perfume made by Cacherel and they used the TMC/Liz Fraser version in their TV commercial. Several covers have been made and a few have sampled Liz Fraser’s vocals. Messiah sampled Fraser for their song ‘Temple of Dreams’. Lost Witness version is titled Did I Dream (Song To The Siren) and Paul Oakenfold put a version on Perfecto Presents Another World.
The Czars covered it for a Tim Buckley tribute compilation titled Sing A Song For You. This is widely known to be one of the best renditions to date. I wish I had a copy of the Moneypenny version (Bryant-Lake Bowl, excellent spot, does Kim still own it?)…
Several others have recorded it as well, but Buckley, TMC and The Czars all made this the kind of song that other musicians adore. That’s why it has stood for so long, it’s a songwriter’s song for songwriters. Though, oddly, Jeff Buckley, Tim’s son, never recorded it.
Ivo Watts-Russell, owner of 4AD records and the driving force behind TMC, controls their version of the song. Many who first heard it in David Lynch’s film Lost Highway wondered why it was not on the soundtrack and hearing it in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre trailer the other day was very odd, but I noticed it’s not on the soundtrack for that movie either.
luckydog said,
October 20, 2003 at 11:26 am
And that thing by Paul Oakenfold is not it either so don’t bother looking for it. It is truely a mystery of who sang the version that is on the web page and on the trailer. Hopefully someone will find the full version.

The movie is inspired by true events that took place in August 1973 in a rural Texas town. How true this movie actually is, we will never know. The film begins on an August day when Texas police officers find the butchered remains of 33 people at a local slaughterhouse in Travis County, Texas. Apparently, the killer, known as “Leatherface,” brandished a chainsaw and wore masks fashioned from the flesh of his victims. At one point, police authorities caught and killed a man wearing a leather mask, but those close to the investigation believed that they had the wrong man.
Ed Gein has NOTHING at all to do with the inspiration of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

I am in tears to find my years as a dj has come to pay off! I am 30 yrs of age and I am a major Cocteau Twins Fan. Also A MAJOR Texas Chainsaw FAN! The song by “Mortal Coil” is the song on the trailer except a different female vocalist. The movie trailer does not mess the song up at all! It is the same as “Mortal Coil!”.
For everyone who does not know who “Mortal Coil” is, it is the band that the vocalist (Elizabeth) from the “Cocteau Twins” joined after “The Twins” broke up. Needless to say, this song is not in the movie at all. Having this song and being a Thomas Hewitt fan for years, I just of wished the song was in the film! I thought that the perfect place for it was at the end when Erin was alone driving away from the Hewitt house with the child. Was it money that kept it from the film? We will never know. Still, it is so haunting to see this song on the official site of the movie. We know that the trailer version is no where but on the official site of the movie, thats ok though, Elizabeth still sounds the BEST!!

About the song. I just got the mortal coil version. it is definitely a different vocalist than the one on the tcm website/trailer. Great song, but the tcm version is much better. It’s that voice. I get goose bumps from the website, the mortal coil cd does nothing for me.

You can tell by listening to the trailer music that it IS NOT the This Mortal Coil version. Although it is very similar, I am a record producer. You can hear Antares Pitch Correction on the version in the trailer. I read the version by this Mortal Coil was done in 1983 - and she’s singing slightly out of key. Her performance would never fly by today’s standards. Therefore, is is not This Mortal Coil. I also saw that the song will not be on the soundtrack.

Quite the opposite, actually, Elizabeth Fraser was in Cocteau Twins when she worked on the first TMC release ‘It’ll End In Tears’. Cocteau Twins recorded for at least ten years after her work with TMC and Fraser has never ‘joined’ another band since Cocteau Twins broke up, though she has sang on tracks by Massive Attack, Craig Armstrong and many others.
Song To The Siren
Long afloat on shipless oceans
I did all my best to smile
‘Til your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving to your isle
And you sang
Sail to me
Sail to me
Let me enfold you
Here I am
Here I am
Waiting to hold you
Did I dream you dreamed about me?
Were you hare when I was fox?
Now my foolish boat is leaning
Broken lovelorn on your rocks,
For you sing, “Touch me not, touch me not, come back tomorrow:
O my heart, O my heart shies from the sorrow”
I am puzzled as the newborn child
I am troubled at the tide:
Should I stand amid the breakers?
Should I lie with Death my bride?
Hear me sing, “Swim to me, Swim to me, Let me enfold you:
Here I am, Here I am, Waiting to hold you”

Errr, the song IS actually by This Mortal Coil, and IS song to the siren, the producers have cleverly adjusted the pitch of the vocals, and added a “crackle” effect so its hard to tell where theyve edited the actual words as some of the lyrics from the origonal are not there.

A trailer for the recently released remake of the movie “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” (wasn’t once enough?) features a NEW version of Tim Buckley’s “Song to the Siren” (which was itself covered by Elizabeth and Robin for 4AD’s This Mortal Coil project in 1983). The version of “Song to the Siren” that is in the movie trailer is NOT the same version as that recorded by Liz and Robin in 1983; it is a new version, with new instrumentation and a different singer. Neither Elizabeth nor Robin nor 4AD (to our knowledge) had anything to do with the recording that is being used to promote “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” (Since the song was not originally written or recorded by them, it isn’t up to them anyway.)
It is, however (maybe), worth noting that the version being used in the movie trailer is a very close remake (a mimicry, even) of Liz and Robin’s version of Buckley’s original recording. The late Tim Buckley (father of the late Jeff Buckley) originally wrote and recorded “Song to the Siren” for his 1970 LP Star Sailor. Ivo Watts-Russell, founder of 4AD, asked Liz and Robin to record their own interpretation of the song for the 1983 This Mortal Coil EP entitled Sixteen Days/Gathering Dust. The song was later included on the This Mortal Coil LP It’ll End In Tears, released in 1984.

So I talked to moneypenny themselves and here is the real deal. The song you hear in the trailer is sung by vocalist Renee Firner but she only sung a 30 sec bit from the song. That is why there is no version out there that has the whole thing. I already came across the same bit there is on the TCM web site and that is the whole thing they made her sing. This version is based on The mortal Coil version thats why its so damn similar but the only real difference is the vocalist. So finaly I can rest easy knowing the truth.
Deuz_ZeX said,

Personaly then I think Renee singing is much better. Her voice is so soothing and crystal clear. Its sad relly that they didn´t record the whole thing.

Ok, some of you got it right, but not all the way
TTCM is inspired by TWO stories! One was of course by Ed Gein who made furnature and clothing out of skin and body parts, however, he got most of his parts from dead people he dug up! He didnt kill them, but possibly one person!
THE OTHER INSPIRATION TO THIS STORY which you all leave out is Robert Kleason, who incidentally died earlier this year! He shot and killed two boys (Gary Darley and Mark Fischer) IN TEXAS and cut their bodies up under a BAND SAW to better conceal the bodies! He went to jail, was realeased later, and even married after! A fat guy you can see pics of online!
Anyway, a band saw is nothing like a chainsaw, but put the two scary, BUT TRUE stpries together and you get a twisted movie

Oh, for crying out loud! Fizz_Binn, who just so happens to be the former bass player of the now defunct Minneapolis band Moneypenny, gave the absolutely correct explanation above. I, as the former guitarist of the now defunct Minneapolis band Monypenny, will now reiterate, hopefully for the final time, THE CORRECT ANSWER: The version of the song in the trailer was sung by Renee Firner, former singer of the now defunct Minneapolis band Moneypenny. It was recorded, as Fizz_Binn mentioned, by Ev, now formerly of Minneapolis band 12 Rods. THERE IS NO FULL VERSION OF THE SONG AVAILABLE. They recorded only the small chunk of it that appears in the trailer. End of story. Sheesh!

So what everyone is trying to say is that the whole thing about the kids getting killed is just made up? There never was a sick twisted family or anything, it seemed like it could have been true. So that dude from texas, robert something, he only killed two people? What about the ending of the movie where they say that two cops went searching and all that and that “leatherface” killed them, there’s no truth behind all that? How about tcm2?

Ok, after seeing The original TCM I decided to check this out.
I read not only alot about Ed Gein, but alot on Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel (writers) as well.
According to Kim and Tobe TCM is based on Ed Gein.
NO OTHER serial Killer.
The story of Ed is not as amazing as you might think.
The real story had NO family in it, no hippy kids, and No dead cops.
While suspected of four others, Ed was only convicted of two murders. And he didn’t kill them in any horrific way. He shot them. And one of them was in her 50’s. Ed Gein did not kill ANY men. He was obsessed with female anatomy. And this is why he dug up dead bodies. He even dug up his dead mother.
He did eat them though, that much is true.
He also did make strange objects with their skin.
Lamp Shades, Knife Handles, Clothes, etc.
And one part that isn’t in TCM but is in Silence of the Lambs is that Ed Gein was obsessed with becoming a female. He made a skin suit much like buffalo bill did in SOTL.
This skin suit is where Tobe and Kim got the idea for the leather face.
So, yeah, there you have it.

The Jam said,

The song in the trailer, is as seducing as a siren should be, and thus, like a siren only exists in Greek mythology and is never to be seen as a real complete person, the few seconds of this heavenly voice that you can hear in the trailer, don’t exist as a real complete song anywhere on this earth…
So… enjoy the many versions of this song that are actually available on Kazaa, Imesh and so on.
Obsessions can take a lot of time, but saying to anybody: Here I am, waiting to hold you… takes just a few seconds…
This Renee and the one who made the trailer, did the finest job I ever saw…

I can’t be that Moneypenny isn’t working on a full version, as this song is SO popular it could sell millions of copies.
P.S.: This search remembers me of my search to a song played in the movie “Fear” with Mark Wahlberg, after a year of searching it appeared to be “The Sundays - Wild Horses”. You should listen it
P.S.2: Does Moneypenny have a website?

Moneypenny no longer has a website, as we disbanded in 2001. I don’t believe Renee has any plans to record a full version of this song, but if she’s seen this page at all, she must be aware of the rather obsessive demand. I’ll ask her.

One of them is mixed a little differently, with a little reverb. Hate to disappoint everybody, but that’s all that was ever recorded- just a little session piece.
Hopefully, people might finally get some rest over the issue. (Although a full version would be nice, I admit.)

Its weird how the police never thought of looking for him back in his home? In the movie the ending is true. they only have those pictures of leatherface. So if he is still alive he’s out there….waiting to strike again. But i think that hes probably too old to kill, maybe he doesnt want to expose himself yet……Then again these are my thoughts…………

Hi, everyone, I would like to make this clear to all those who think this movie is true…The Texas Chainsaw Massacre isnt true…sorry…how I know is, this movie was INSPIRED by a true story of a guy named Ed Gein, who killed ONE person (not w/ a chainsaw) with a gun, and he made a body suit out of a womens skin also kept items around his house of human body parts or organs. Tobe Hooper the director of the original TCM said that when he was a kid living 2 miles from where Ed Gein lived, his grandparents told him stories of Ed Gein and what he did, so in 1973

For everyone thinking this movie is true…..its not. Its based on bits and pieces of Ed Gien’s crimes *who was really fooked* There was no cannablistic family, no chainsaw, no leatherface. This sucks because for awhile i thought the stuff was true, and thats what held the most fright value, but still, a very good movie. Leatherface would def. beat jason’s, freddy’s, and michal myer’s ass, hands down~

So for all you that think its real it ISN’T hes just another top horror contender with Freddy,Jason and Michael myers. I’m a major horror fan I’ve been into this stuff for years so I know my stuff. Til your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving into your eyes
And you sang:

What the hek are you talking about neoman? There is NO and I really mea NO Thomas Hewitt in reality! The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is BASED LOOSELY / INSPIRED on the story of serial killer Ed Gein. FBI found 33 corpses on his backyard. Ed Gein lived in Plainfield, Wisconsin. Also Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960) was INSPIRED by Ed Gein. There was NO Thomas Hewitt. Thomas Hewitt is a fictional character created by the filmmakers of TCM Remake. TCM remake which indead is a very bad one. Watch the original or Hooper’s 1986-sequal, but avoid this. It’s only moneymaking.
Orni said,

starsailor is pretty darned close with “Song to the Siren” lyrics……and yes “This Mortal Coil” (taken from Shakespeare for those who know) did a cover of it, but it is a cover of a cover of a cover. The song is old, that is not the coils version and it is not on the soundtrack which is tragic (Not just its absence but the crap that is on the soundtrack)The corrections are “on the floating shipless oceans”…..”were you here when I was full sail”(not hare and/or fox)?! and finally “well I’m as puzzled as a newborn child, I’m as riddled as the tide”…….P.S….no, TCM did not really happen, and no “leatherface” is out there nor is there a haunted place in Amityville or a “mothman”………be glad, the world is sick enough.

I know file sharing is very convenient and very affordable but if you like an artist’s work you should let them know and encourage them to keep it up. Buying their album is a great way of doing so. I own two This Mortal Coil albums and am very happy with them both. If you liked this song I encourage you to buy the album and see what else the band can do:

I am in total agreement about someone getting Renee Firner to record a full version, seriously, it was a evil CRIME of this film production company to have someone create something so beautiful, and only record 30 seconds of it, all the while keeping it from us. I think they’re right… You have to have a REALLY good ear to hear, but it’s almost like the mortal coil did everything they could to “COPY” what was going on with the first version exactly… It’s funny how people keep calling the song “SOOTHING” or “BEAUTIFUL” I frankly hear it and think of nothing but sadness and depression. lol. It’s a wonderful song, but there are times when it brings me to tears, and I’m in a rut for the next three days. lol… (not really, but you get the idea) I need information on THIS particular song for a story I’m writing… looks like I picked the WRONG song since no one can agree on who WROTE IT, who SANG IT, or even the LYRICS!!! - the techno cover by Ratty/Scooter
By the way, as antidote to the general frenzy here: when I was subjected to the “Noa” ad in a cinema years ago,
my friend sitting next to me remarked that he hated “that kind of music” !
Go figure.

Kind of funny how much misinformation is in the posts above regarding “Song To The Siren.”
Anyway, a couple more versions of the song –
Laurie Freelove recorded a version on her 1996album “Smells Like Truth” that is derivative of the This Mortal Coil version — it sounds like she learned the lyrics from their version and misheard some.
On Bambi’s Lake’s newly released 2005 CD “My Glamourous Life as a Broadway Hostess”, there’s a version that is more like the Tim Buckley version. You can get is from aquariusrecords.org — just search for Bambi.
It’s too bad more people haven’t heard the Tim Buckley version, but for legal reasons, the album Starsailor isn’t available on CD currently. There was a This Mortal Coil box set about 10 years ago that had a bonus disc of original versions that had it on it, and there was a CD of Buckley’s album Starsailor released which is now out of print. Vinyl copies of Starsailor are expensive. I still haven’t seen the Monkees tape — I think you gotta get the out of print box set of complete Monkees TV show to see that. Pretty sure he sings it over the closing credits and it may be incomplete (familiar story, huh?) Both the TV show and studio versions are on an expensive Buckley compilation from Rhino called Morning Glory: The Tim Buckley Anthology.

Also, and it’s not diffcult to tell, the texas chainsaw version is definately *not* the fraser/guthrie (this mortal coil) version. I suspect Ivo had more sense that to allow it to be used for this film, so the film producers must have gotten someone else in to do a version cynically copying the this mortal coil version. If you listen, it sounds as if the texas chainsaw version has an american singer. Both Elizabeth and Robin are scottish. The singer in the new version, although she’s not bad, certainly isn’t anywhere near as good as elizabeth fraser, but please don’t
bother to reply if you disagree, just remember, that fraser and guthrie, although they didn’t write the song, did make this arrangement
and so without them the version in the film
wouldn’t even exist.

anyone know what that song is and who sings it in the trailer……..HAHA JK!
I actually posted in here about a yr ago, dec 03!
Anyway, since that full version of the song was never made, (except for the delusional people in here that think they have it, even tho its a song that sounds LIKE it, but you really dont need to have finely tuned ears to notice there’s a big difference)…
Anyway, as I was saying, I made a nice mix out of what was on the trailer, it sounds fine, it just repeats itself of the 1st verse or 1st line thats in the trailer over and over, but it’s about 3-6 min long and sounds like it could be a song! none of the trailer sounds are in it, just the 1st verse! I mixed it to make it have a few variations as it goes along
if you want a copy Ill be glad to email it to you!
Later,

As a member of the Fischer family, (neice to Mark) I can tell you that although the movie bears some striking similarities, and probably is somewhat based on Mark’s story, at least for legal reasons, the screenwriters and producers, etc, have said that the movie is not based on the story of Elders Darley and Fischer.
Yes, Kleason was a sick man, you can read it in his biography, Evil Among Us, but the movie and my uncle’s true story are significantly…divergent.

here are the lyrics the original by tim buckley and this mortal coils version slightly different:
Song To The Siren
Tim Buckley
Long afloat on shipless oceans
I did all my best to smile
‘Til your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving to your isle
And you sang
Sail to me
Sail to me
Let me enfold you
Here I am
Here I am
Waiting to hold you
Did I dream you dreamed about me?
Were you hare when I was fox?
Now my foolish boat is leaning
Broken lovelorn on your rocks,
For you sing, “Touch me not, touch me not, come back tomorrow:
O my heart, O my heart shies from the sorrow”
I am puzzled as the oysters
I am troubled at the tide:
Should I stand amid the breakers?
Or Should I lie with Death my bride?
Hear me sing, “Swim to me, Swim to me, Let me enfold you:
Here I am, Here I am, Waiting to hold you”
This Mortal Coil & Lisa Gerrard
Song to the Siren
On the floating, shapeless oceans
I did all my best to smile
til your singing eyes and fingers
drew me loving into your isle.
And you sang
“Sail to me, sail to me - Let me enfold you.”
Here I am, here I am waiting to hold you.
Did I dream you dreamed about me?
Were you here when I was full sail?
Now my foolish boat is leaning, broken love lost on your rocks.
For you sang,
“Touch me not, touch me not, come back tomorrow.”
Oh my heart, oh my heart shies from the sorrow.
I’m as puzzled as a newborn child.
I’m as riddled as the tide.
Should I stand amid the breakers?
Or shall I lie with death my bride?
Hear me sing: “Swim to me, swim to me, let me enfold you.”
“Here I am. Here I am, waiting to hold you.”

After giving the MP3 rip of the 30 seconds or so from the video, I still have to give props to the This Mortal Coil (yes, the band is *THIS* Mortal Coil, not Mortal Coil as they are improperly referred to in this thread far too man ytimes) version still rings true… after 25 years.
Here’s a great live version… way better than the live mp3 above:
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=xP2vw189q4U
Shows what a great live voice Liz Frazer has. Everyone should pick up “It’ll End in Tears”. A great album even now, and Elizabeth Frazer also sings on another track on there.
