The episode TNG: Coming of Age lays down the foundation for an X-files conspiracy arc that could have been great but was dropped like a bad fumble at the end of the season. Admiral Quinn tells Picard that he wants the captain close, as he is one of the only people Quinn can trust in Starfleet. Quinn says “perhaps I see conspiracies…everywhere” as he leaves the ship. Too bad the writers were unable to see these conspiracies clearly enough to do something with them.

Months after the teaser first hit the Internet, a full trailer for Timeline has finally posted. I am cautiously optimisitc about this movie. It could be yet another summer popcorn flick, but if done right it could turn out to be a great Sci-fi film.

Writer/Director Neil Marshall proclaims in the DVD extras that Dog Soldiers (2002) is “not a werewolf movie with Soldiers, but a Soldier movie with Werewolves”. Whatever. This slash-’em, bite-’em, shoot-’em-up guns and fur fest is nothing short of an exhiting pretty well made B flick. Dog Soldiers has a squad of six soldiers in the Scottish highlands being hunted by a pack of werewolves under a full moon. The soldiers are armed to the teeth and the werewolves regenerate their wounds: you do the math. We all know exactly what will happen, who will die and in what order from the beginning of the movie, not that it matters. The action is fun and exiting throughout. My favorite scene is by far when the squad’s bad-ass “spoon” runs out of ammunition on his G3 rifle, tosses it aside, puts up his dukes and starts taking punches at the snout of his nine foot assailant. Probably not a date movie (I guess that depends on who you date) but Dog Soldiers is definitely worth renting for the next time you host a Werewolf movie weekend.

A new full trailer has posted for Underworld. The trailer has quite a few new shots in it. The bad news is that the trailer gives the whole plot away, so if you would like to be surprised by the movie skip it. The good news is that the movie still looks gorgeous.
