The Animatrix is one of the greatest anime films I have ever seen. A Detective’s Story was the best.

Just red a review that spoke of The Animatrix as boring and unnesssary I’m really glad to trip over this side. I’m very fond of The Animatrix, it’s a real goldmine!

ive seen it like 40 times!!! but i never get bored of it!

Not normally being a fan of anime, I was very impressed at how much detail went into these short films. Especially with “Kid’s Story”, I’m pretty sure that’s the most gorgeous hand-drawn animation sequence I’ve ever seen.
Overall, very well told and highly cinematic with a suberb art direction (if not more than most movies)
