Angel Fifth Season

I don’t watch Angel but know a couple of geeks who do.. so this news is for you Michael and Sven:

Angel (TV): Good and bad news for fans of the Joss Whedon Buffy spin-off series as the fate of the show is finally revealed just after the airing of the fourth season finale which took the show in a whole new direction. Lets start with the good - Variety reports that “Angel” has indeed been renewed for a full fifth season with the new regular cast addition of James Marsters (Spike on “Buffy”). Also some of the best scribes from “Buffy” have come onboard back at the WB to help kick off the fifth season, as will other characters from Sunnydale who’ll put in appearances (who and what capacity is unsure right now). The downside? Cordelia herself Charisma Carpenter is not expected to return as a series regular. The network will announce its Fall TV slate tomorrow.

A rumor, currently unsubstantiated, is floating that Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia Chase) has quit the show to spend more time with her new family.
She may or may not be doing guest appearances in S5.

I don’t think so that Charisma will quit of the show. Maybe she wants to spend more time with her family. So what? She deserves that, anyway…
Basically, I don’t believe that ‘Angel’ could survive for a long time without Cordelia Chase. Cordelia is very important to the show and Charisma knows that. I don’t think that she won’t take that point of view…

Ughh you people are so pathetic. Firstly with brazilian wax wannabe who only contradicts and then with yawn mutt. Oh my god. Get a grip. Joss whedon is a genius. If he writes cordy out of the show it will be for good reason. He has this clever way of over powering the sexes. For instance… buffy lots of girls. Angel predominantly guys.its probably a trade off for James Marsters to even up the imbalance. Oh and season six… was awesome. How can anyone take away the eil willow factor?

Joss Whedon and company basically wrote CC out because, well they have taken the story as far as it can go. WHAT ?????
Maybe they just should have admitted that they can’t really write fantasy/Sci-fi plot or they have lost their muse. Writters can always come up with more stores, as long as they have the talent and the drive. OOPs maybe we know what the problem is now?

He’s taken her character’s story as far as it can go??? I’m not a writer of the show and even I know her story isn’t done.
Angel and Cordy’s supposed romance never even happened. The main reason I watch this show is for both Angel and Cordelia wether they get together or not. Now I’m not even sure I want to see the next season.
This “Spike is back” nonsense seems like an excuse to fill the void of CC taking a break from the show.

well I dont know if Cordys story is done or not, but I’ll definately miss her if she goes. Who’ll be Angels voice of reason in her stead?
Here’s hoping she does appear in Season 5.

Why don’t you all just sit back and see what happens. By the way - how can you say that Buffy season 6 was a yawn. It had such a range of emotions that it was compelling viewing.
I’m sure Angel will be the same. I for one am looking forward to the fifth series. Guest appearances by the likes of Xander, Willow and Buffy would be fantastic though!

WOW! I am so glad that I am not the only one who watched Angel for the characters of Angle & Cordelia. In fact, I have to be honest, ever since the very first episode of Angel Season one, I have been wanting Angel and Cordelia to become romantic. I think they have the best chemistry together and I think that her comical self absorbed personality and his broodiness compliment one another. I mean, just look at how beautiful this girl is!!! They would be great together. I don’e down her for trying out all these other acting gigs like See Jane Date, MissMatch, etc…. I really hope she makes it big, but I do hope that she does return to the Angel show and that the writers do who character justice. Sh’e been Cordelia Chase for a long time now. I hope that they take that into consieration and I hope that they allow Angel to still lvoe her instead of him not ever talking about it again. That would be very weak. He finally gave in and fully loved her but then of course she was posessed the whole time. Bummer! I really hope that she comes back and I hope the writers continue with their storyline. Maybe bring Buffy in for a love triangle. That would be really cool, especially if he chooses Cordelai!

If she doesn’t come back for Angel, then I jsut want to say Thank you Charisma Carpenter for all your work on the show!!! You’ve made me laugh out load a lot with all your wise cracks and remarks. I wont be watching the show anymore since your absence but if I hear you’re returning, I’ll be tuning in! Thank you again!

I hope Cordy does come back. If Charisma wants to spend more time with her new family that’s wonderful, but me along with others would like to see her come back. I have been watching season 5 and I don’t think it is as good as last season. Spike returning would be better if he wasn’t a ghost and what was the point of bringing Harmony to the show, maybe someone can explain that to me. I hear Faith is to come back for a few episodes this season, but I don’t know. That would be nice, I’ll keep watching and hopefully it will get more interesting, Joss usually knows what he’s doing but even the creator can have an off season. Who knows, we’ll see.

I am one of the biggest fans of this show, I love Cordelia and I would like to see her side to side with Angel. I will be angry if Joss do not take her back, she and Angel makes a bettter couple than Buffy and Angel.

I love Buffy and Angel, however i do miss cordelia being on Angel and also wish they would bring her Back, however it’s as other’s have said Joss is a brillant wrirter/director so.. whatever he decides to do will be awesome, i have been watching season5 and i must say i like it !! i know Cordy has a do apperance in the hundreth epi so.. that will be good , i just hope that they don’t cut her return short,killing her or something:( however i like it that Spike is on there, and of course they did it because of Charisma’a absence why else would Joss do something like that?? and i agree Cordy’s story isn’t done they’ll bring her back and again i also… heard there are supposed to be some guest apperances by other sunnydale people such as “Faith “and “Willow” which i Can’t wait for, but i have faith in Joss he won’t let us down you watch wait and see. here’s to hopeing you keep watching:)

Angel and Buffy being togeather are the only two who show fans that true love can last.Its a shame that what happened to Darla and Angel wasen’t Buffy and Angel.Then you would have a new series with a younger Slayer when the world was ready for another slayer Vamp show.No two people ever last on both shows. I liked both Buffy & Angel Newcomers will watch one or the other but will want to trace back to catch up on the actors witch means watching both shows so they dont miss out on any thing

I HATED SEASON 5!
The writers did everything the could to make this the worst Buffy/Angel season imaginable.
First off - there was no Cordelia! How can you possibly have Angel without Cordelia Chase? Granted, they didn’t have Charisma… But I’m sure they could have bribed her with tons of cash! Also, it annoyed me how they brought her back… Got everyone’s hopes all up… And had her vanish!
Poor Fred! She deserved a happy ending! Trapped in Lorne’s dimension, the whole Wes/Gunn thing, her whole life!! Illyria was so unneccessary. I think they were just picking on the girls so they didn’t get another overload like Buffy!
Even Gunn. Granted, people change over time, but I can’t believe what they did to him! They’re supposed to make the characters better. The new Gunn was crap! Plus, he killed Fred!
I’m not even going to start on Spike. Let’s just say he’s the crappiest Buffy/Angel character in the history of crappy Buffy/Angel characters.
I also didn’t like what they did to the Buffy family! They’re supposed to stay together till the end of time, not all leave each other and go and live on opposite sides of the planet. After they’d gone through so much, it was just so unbelievible and crappy!

I have to admit: I haven’t really seen any episodes of Buffy, but I love watching Angel. He is so awesome. I watch Angel because I feel like I am a lot like him. That being said, I think that the whole Angel-Cordy thing was the best thing that ever happened on the show. For the longest time I just watched it because of those two. They were like yin and yang. They balanced each other out. I really would have liked to see something work out btw those two, even after the events in the last season. All you Buffy-Angel fans can just get over it because Angel and Cordy were meant to be together, even though he’d outlive her by a couple hundred years…

I love watching Angel. I have seen many episodes that have aired on TV. From what I’ve heard there isn’t going to be a sixth season. In the fifth season, Cordelia does come back for one episode. Angel and Cordy confess their love for one another and they share a special intimate moment at the end, unfortunately, nothing else is able to take place between them. They would have been great together. Everything that Cordy and Angel felt for each other is the exact same way Angel and Buffy felt for each other. For everyone who doesn’t know, the fifth and final season is out on DVD to have as your very own.

Okey. I’ve been trying to take in this whole Angel/Cordy thing for quite some time now. but I CAN’T!. I’m just speeking for myself, however i don’t doubt that there are more people like me that feels this way. Sure, Angel/Cordy = Cute, and i totally respect the A/C fans out there. But it’s just not suposed to be that way! Ever since the first episode of angel they’ve had a wonderful friendship, kinda like brother and sister. personally I was way more comfortable with that! What Buffy and Angel shared…no one will ever take away! It was the real thing! Sure, it was forbidden love, but that’s what makes their romance so unforgetable. And besides, if Angel were to end up with Cordy (who for those who don’t know, now is with connor *and thank god not Angel*) it wouldn’t be any different Angel would still have to deal with his vampire ego! And David has personally stated that the one true love of Angels life…the one woman who will always hold his heart, that trully made him happy, is and always will be Buffy! And Sarah Michelle Gellar admitted that Angel will always be the one true love of Buffys life and that Buffy will never love anyone else in the same way, and as much, as she loves Angel! She also admitted that Buffy loves Spike, but she’s not IN LOVE with Spike, which she is with Angel. Joss even stated himself that what Angel and Buffy has is “An Eternal Love” ! So to me personally, I think it’s quite clear who they each should end up with!. BUFFY AND ANGEL 4EVER. I would love to hear from others who feel the same way i do.
